What is Railway Interchange?
In 2011, Railway Interchange began with feedback from the Class I Railroads for the rail industry to create one trade show that covers all facets of the industry. Today, Railway Interchange is the largest railway exhibition and educational conference in North America. The 2025 event takes place May 20-22 in Indianapolis, IN.
Recognized as the premier rail industry event, Railway Interchange is attended by over 5,000 rail industry professionals from around the globe. This railway conference showcases the latest technology, product development, services, and research by members of the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), and Railway System Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI).
In addition to the Expo Hall, attendees will be inspired by a keynote address from a top rail industry professional and, during sessions, gain new insight on emerging technology, government regulations, and more. RSI and its educational partners will provide attendees with the knowledge and expertise to stay at the forefront of the railway supply industry.

Why isn’t AREMA participating in Railway Interchange in 2025?
The American Railway Engineering & Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) made a financial decision to step away from Railway Interchange after 2023 and to host a standalone conference. The Railway Interchange partners are open to working with AREMA in the future and working towards what is in the best interest of the rail industry as a whole.
