INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., July 25, 2017 – Exhibit space for Railway Interchange, North America’s largest railway industry exhibition and technical conference to be held at the Indiana Convention Center, has completely sold out and available hotel rooms are filling up quickly, the event’s host organizations announced today. The Railway Interchange exhibition will be held September 17-19, 2017, with technical and educational sessions taking place September 18-20, 2017.

The Railway Interchange exhibition showcases the latest technology, services, and research by members of the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), and Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI). Railway Interchange also features technical presentations and discussions by the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the Coordinated Mechanical Associations (CMA).

More than 700 exhibitors from the rail industry’s mechanical, communications and signaling, and maintenance of way disciplines will bring their displays to the expo hall this year, breaking the previous record set in 2015. – REMSA Executive Director and CEO David Tennent.

We are thrilled that the biennial Railway Interchange event continues to grow. AREMA will be offering many educational opportunities which will provide increased value for all attendees. – AREMA Executive Director and CEO Beth Caruso, CAE.

Highlights of the conference program, which begins on Monday, September 18, include the joint general session with motivational keynote speaker Ken Schmidt, former Harley-Davidson Motor Company executive; Michael J. Wheeler, Executive Vice President & COO, Norfolk Southern Corporation, who will address the AREMA Annual Committee Chairs Luncheon on Tuesday, September 19; and railroad industry analyst Anthony B. Hatch, ABH Consulting, who will be the featured speaker at the AREMA closing general session on Wednesday, September 20.

The five members of the Coordinated Mechanical Associations will present 65 technical sessions and panel discussions during Railway Interchange, according to RSI President and CEO Tom Simpson. “Our CMA sessions present a wide range of research and discussions of interest to keep Railway Interchange attendees current on the latest advances and issues important to our industry.”

The CMA includes the Air Brake Association (ABA), the International Association of Railway Operating Officers (IAROO), the League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW), the Locomotive Maintenance Officers Association (LMOA) and Mechanical Association Railcar Technical Services (MARTS). LRIW will present its “Outstanding Woman of the Year” award during the Monday opening joint general session, sponsored by Progressive Railroading.

Along with its technical sessions taking place during Railway Interchange, AREMA offers educational seminars in Indianapolis before and after the event. Visit www.arema.org for links to their full conference agenda and seminars.

In addition to the AREMA and CMA meetings, the North American Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) will hold its annual general meeting in conjunction with Railway Interchange on Tuesday, September 19. There will also be an IRSE-sponsored meeting of the IEEE on Wednesday, September 20.
